    Dogs and squirrels are usually not friends, unless we assume that running, like crazy and chasing with harmful intent are signals of friendship. Squirrels were pray for the anchestors of dogs for times we can remember.

 thBoxers are usually kind and playful, but Martha was abused for long time before got adopted by Erin, therefore she hated all animals and no humans could really get close to her either.  This all changed, when she discovered, if she stays still, the squirrel does not run away...
